Both happen in the app, where the camera and the microphone are. A page can tell you what they do; it is not somewhere either one can be done.

One sentence, and every field is filled: amount, currency, who paid, who’s in the split, and the category. Type it instead if you’d rather — the same sentence works either way.

Speech is recognised by your own browser, so no audio leaves the device and nothing is recorded. Chrome, Edge and Safari can listen. Firefox has no speech recogniser at all — there the button asks you to type the same sentence instead, and it produces the same draft.
Both fill in a draft you look at first. If the receipt is faded, folded or photographed at an angle and the numbers don’t add up, Tabrillo says so and hands it back for you to correct rather than guessing. A wrong amount in a shared ledger is worse than a slow one.
