Splid’s appeal is that you can start without an account and nobody has to sign up. Tabrillo works the same way — send a link, they type a name, they’re in.
So the question is not how you start. It is what happens three weeks later, when somebody looks at what they owe and doesn’t believe it.
Tap the balance and you get the receipt: every expense that contributed, who paid it, how it was divided, and where a total didn’t divide cleanly, who took the extra penny. Nothing is stored as a balance — every figure is derived when you look at it, so correcting an expense corrects the receipt with it.
